Power Outages

Sudden power outages can be frustrating and troublesome, especially when they last a long time. If a power outage is 2 hours or less, you need not be concerned about losing your perishable foods. For prolonged power outages, though, there are steps you can take to minimize food loss and to keep all members of your household as comfortable as possible.

Monsoon/Storm Safety
Before the storm hits, know what to expect and how to stay safe in order to prepare for the Arizona monsoon season.

Water Safety
The Red Cross is brimming with water safety tips to keep your family safe. The most basic: Learn to swim! Take some lessons at your local pool. The best thing anyone can do to stay safe in and around the water is to learn to swim. And always swim with a buddy; never swim alone.

Heat/Summer Safety
Warm weather means activities and fun under the sun! Whether you love putting on shorts and feeling the warm outdoors or find it hot and sticky, everyone must be careful not to let a heat-related illness spoil the day.

Hiking Safety
Many families head to our national parks and forests to enjoy the great outdoors. But if you're not prepared to rough it in the woods, hiking or camping can be a rough experience. The best way to help guarantee a good time for all is to plan ahead carefully and follow commonsense safety precautions.

School Safety Tips

Before your children head back to school, read more about getting your child to school safety, whether the walk, bike, carpool or take the bus.

Winter Driving Tips

The leading cause of death during winter storms is from automobile or other transportation accidents. So before you jump in your car this winter, consider these safety tips.

Holiday Safety

The winter holidays should be a joyous time of year, but statistics show it can also be a dangerous one. Nationwide, nearly 500 deadly home fires happen each December as a result of Christmas trees catching fire. Many of these fires and deaths can be prevented by taking a few simple precautions.
